Jesus taught us to pray to the Father and He revealed the Father to us. As Jesus revealed the Father to us, this revelation opens up our hearts to know Him. Knowing the Father’s heart is key to unlock what is in heaven and release it on earth. Jesus said that whatever we ask the Father in His Name, He will do.
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also ; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip ? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father ‘? “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also ; and greater works than these he will do ; because I go to the Father. “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
John 14:7-14 NAS
As we pray Jesus is our model. Jesus has shown us the Father. As we draw close to the Lord, our hearts become one with His and He reveals His heart to us. The Father’s heart is to give good gifts to His children. It is His heart to release to earth what He has purposed in Heaven.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
Simple prayers of faith are backed up with the power of heaven. Knowing what Abba Father’s heart is for us, gives us faith to pray the prayer that moves mountains out of our way. These prayers of faith please the Father. Our Father delights to partner with us and is waiting to reveal His heart to us. We know that it His good pleasure to give us gifts of revelation through dreams, visions, insight in the word and prophecy. As we seek the Father through His Son, Holy Spirit helps us with all we need to know how to pray, agree and decree what His will is.
This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10 GNT
May your prayers come alive as you draw near to the Father and He draws near to you! Thank you for praying for Intrepid Heart Ministries!
